RENT returns to London in a bold new West End revival, marking 30 years since Jonathan Larson’s groundbreaking musical first changed contemporary theatre forever.

Inspired by Puccini’s La Bohème, RENT follows a group of young artists and friends living in New York’s East Village as they navigate love, friendship, ambition and survival during the HIV/AIDS crisis of the 1990s.

Since its premiere in 1996, RENT has become one of the world’s most influential musicals, celebrated for its emotional honesty, unforgettable rock score and powerful themes of community and resilience. Songs like “Seasons of Love” continue to resonate with audiences across generations.

This new London production stars Gaten Matarazzo (Stranger Things) and brings Larson’s iconic story back to the West End for a new era. Raw, emotional and filled with energy, RENT remains just as relevant and moving today as when it first premiered.
